This is not a trip you 'do', this is a journey you experience together. For eight days, we trek through Southern Morocco together, from Marrakech to the Sahara and back. Slowly, warmly, and with room for conversation. Just like traveling with family.
We start in Marrakech, where we meet, settle in, and have dinner together. No rush, no pressure. The next day, we leave the city behind and drive south. The landscape changes slowly. Mountains become valleys, valleys become desert. Along the way, we sleep in places where you feel welcome, where people greet you as if you have always been coming there.
We stay in the Sahara for several nights. Not just one fleeting visit, but real time to simply be. During the day, it is quiet and grand. In the evening, it becomes warm and intimate. We watch the sun slowly disappear behind the dunes, eat together, talk, laugh, and look up at a starry sky that is almost incomprehensible. One night, we sleep in a glamping tent in the middle of the desert. Comfortable, atmospheric, and magical.
A special moment on this journey is the Rose Festival in M'Gouna. For a few days each year, everything comes together here: scent, color, music, and pride. The families celebrate the rose harvest, and we get to be part of it. Not spectators, but guests.
The return journey is gentle and green. We drive via Beni Mellal and stop at the Ouzoud waterfalls. Water, shade, peace. On Tuesday afternoon, we return to Marrakech. We conclude as we began: together at the table, with stories, memories, and the feeling that we have shared something that remains.

The Program
Day 1 – Arrival in Marrakech
Upon arrival, we are met at the airport and taken to our riad in the medina. Today is mainly dedicated to settling in, taking in the first scents of the souks, and slowly getting used to the rhythm of the city. We take a short walk through the medina and enjoy our first glass of mint tea on a rooftop terrace. In the evening, we dine together at a local restaurant, where we immediately discover the flavors of Moroccan cuisine. Overnight stay in Marrakech.
Day 2 – Marrakech → Boumalne Dades
Today we drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka. Along the way, we stop at small villages and viewpoints to discover lokale spots that might be interesting for future trips. In Ouarzazate, we take time for lunch and explore potential accommodations and experiences in the region. Afterwards, we continue to the Dades Valley with its red rock formations and palm oases. In the evening, we check into a small-scale accommodation where we also talk to the owner about lokale activities. Overnight stay in the Dades Valley.
Day 3 – Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga
After breakfast, we depart for the impressive Todra Gorge. Here, we take a short walk along the high rock walls and check which hiking routes are suitable for groups. Next, we drive on towards the Sahara as the landscape slowly transforms into a vast desert. In Merzouga, we explore both hotels and potential desert camps for future trips. Towards the end of the day, we hike into the dunes to watch the sunset. Overnight stay in Merzouga.
Day 4 – Merzouga and the Sahara
Today we take the time to truly experience the desert and try out various activities. We visit the lokale market in Rissani, where many people from the surrounding villages gather. Afterwards, we drive past small desert villages to meet lokale guides and musicians. In the afternoon, we head back into the dunes for an activity such as a camel ride or a 4x4 drive. In the evening, we gather around a campfire under the starry sky. Overnight stay in Merzouga.
Day 5 – Merzouga → Midelt via the Ziz Valley
We leave the desert and drive north along the green palm oases of the Ziz Valley. Along the way, we stop at viewpoints and small villages to see locations that might be interesting for lunches or stops during group tours. The contrast between the desert and the mountains becomes increasingly pronounced as we travel. In the region around Midelt, we explore lodges and tranquil natural spots that are perfect for a stopover during tours. The evening is relaxed with views of the Atlas Mountains. Overnight stay in Midelt or the surrounding area.
Day 6 – Midelt → Marrakech
Today we drive back to Marrakech via a different mountain route so that we can discover new landscapes and villages. Along the way, we stop at places that might be interesting for future routes, such as lokale markets or small roadside restaurants. The journey once again shows how diverse Morocco is: from mountains and forests to vast plains. We arrive back in Marrakech in the afternoon. The evening is free to wander through the souks one last time or visit a special restaurant. Overnight stay in Marrakech.
